Are you sitting on a thought leadership goldmine?
A challenge our clients often face is that they don’t know how to talk about their success. Many work under the impression that their field or business is too niche to garner wider attention beyond their immediate network. But often they can be sitting on a thought leadership goldmine.
Curio Water has a wealth of experience developing solutions to remove micropollutants from wastewater. CEO, Howard Marles, has worked around the world and is a widely respected engineer in this emerging field. But as a SME they are not accustomed to putting out communications in the media – or social media – about the work they are doing as a company.
One of the big misconceptions about PR is that it’s solely putting a positive spin on a story, or trying to artificially inflate a reputation. Much of the work we do involves thinking like a journalist on behalf of the client, trying to understand ways in which we can authentically communicate their sense of purpose as part of a broader thought leadership campaign across multiple media formats.
After six months, we’ve so far helped Curio Water achieve thought leadership pieces in two of the country’s leading water industry outlets. We’ve also revamped their website content and are building their reputation with a steady flow of news items about their work – from a move of their HQ to the development of pilot plants.
But behind this work is a more comprehensive process – of sitting down with the client, interrogating their current messaging, their future plans, the industry landscape, and how a communications strategy can successfully integrate and align with their objectives.
If you’re interested in hearing more about thought leadership campaigns – particularly for SMEs, or if you have an upcoming project you’d like to talk over from a communications perspective we’d be interested to hear from you. Why not book a free call with us.
